Survey: Lowering Prescription Drug Costs

Congressman Ted Deutch has cosponsored the Medicare Prescription Drug Savings and Choice Act to authorize Medicare to negotiate with drug companies on lower prices for seniors. The bill would create a Medicare-administered prescription drug plan to compete with the expensive, privately administered prescription drug plans currently offered under Medicare Part D. This legislation has the potential to save taxpayers nearly $20 billion a year at a time when the deficit is a major national concern.
