The House Stands Adjourned

The Republican Do Nothing Congress – rated among the least productive in history – has managed to outdo itself, refusing to hear debate on critical legislation for over a month. Over that period, the House has only met nine times for brief sessions lasting for just a few minutes.

In other words, they’ve met for less than an hour over the course of a full month. Not bad work if you can get it.

So what do Republicans have to say? Apparently just, “the House stands adjourned.” That’s Congress-speak for “we’re done working”.

Don’t take our word for it, watch this important video below:

Sadly, Republican inaction has real consequences for American families. Their inaction has put on hold a middle class tax cut, legislation that will put Americans to work, and even the Violence Against Women Act.

Until Congress gets back to work, House Democrats like Rep. Donna Edwards, featured in the video, will continue to “return to Washington to continue the work of the people.”
