Congresswoman Carolyn McCarthy recently visited students at the Project GRAD Summer Institute. During the visit, students were taught how to work with DNA at the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory on Long Island.

Congresswoman Carolyn McCarthy held a press conference at the Westbury Blood Center urging all Long Islanders to donate blood. During the summer months, New York's blood supply drops to dangerous levels. It is important all Long Islander's who are able to donate visit the New York Blood Center to give the gift of life.

Congresswoman Carolyn McCarthy congratulates Kathleen Alvey, a student at Garden City High School, for submitting the winning entry in Rep. McCarthy's Annual High School Art competition. Ms. Alvey's work will be on display in the U.S. Capitol Building for one year and she will receive a $7,000 Adelphi University Art Scholarship. Congresswoman McCarthy and Ms. Alvey are pictured next to the winning submission in the US Capitol.

Rep. This facility is one of the most advanced on Long Island, and can be used as a model for future facilities.
