Ordering a U.S. Flag Flown Over the Capitol

The Architect of the Capitol is responsible for administering the United States Capitol Flag Program, fulfilling requests for a flag to be flown over the Capitol building to commemorate special occasions such as retirements, birthdays and Eagle Scout Awards.  Flags are flown daily, year round, weather permitting, with the exception of Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Years Day.  Each flag comes with a Certificate of Authenticity, issued as a keepsake by the Architect of the U.S. Capitol. 

Anyone can purchase an official flag that has been flown over the Capitol; however, all requests must be made through the office of a U.S. Senator or Representative.  My office can assist you with this request once you print, fill-out and return a completed Flag Order Form.  Please note that if you would like a flag flown for a specific occasion, you should allow at least four to six weeks for delivery.
