Technology & Telecommunications

In Wyoming, we count on reliable access to high-speed broadband to run our small businesses; offer Wyoming products for sale; provide distance learning and telemedicine opportunities to even the smallest of our communities; and, to simply connect with each other and the wider world.  Fortunately, Wyoming is home to some of the most innovative telecommunications companies in the nation.  The availability of affordable broadband is dramatically affected by decisions in Washington, and I am working diligently to ensure that federal policies allow for reliable and affordable broadband service in Wyoming.

We all know what a challenge wireless connection can be in our state. I am working to clear hurdles to constructing more robust wireless service statewide, and to make appropriate changes to the nation’s laws governing satellite and cable television so everyone who lives in Wyoming has the opportunity to view Wyoming-specific television.  I oppose efforts to silence conservative or religious broadcasts through the use of the so-called Fairness Doctrine, and I oppose network neutrality rules on internet providers that represent unreasonable government intervention in the operation of the internet.
