Representing Wyoming

Constitution and Federalism

Wyoming knows its people better than Washington ever will. Since I began my service to the people of Wyoming in the U.S. House, I am continually astounded by the ever-increasing reach of the government.  As a co-founder and co-Chair of the House Tenth Amendment Task Force, I am fighting to return to the rightful owner – states and the individuals – the power that the federal government has grabbed.  That is what our founders envisioned, what our Constitution requires and what the people of Wyoming demand.

I have also joined fellow Tenth Amendment Task Force members in introducing the H.J.RES.62., the Repeal Amendment.  This proposed constitutional amendment provides states with the power to repeal any federal law or regulation with a two-thirds majority vote. The Repeal Amendment is designed to help restore the government’s balance of power by renewing the original intent of the Constitution, which reserves to the states and the people powers not otherwise granted to the federal government.
