About Me

On December 2, 2008, I was elected to serve a second term in the United States Senate.

I am a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee; the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry; the Senate Rules Committee; the Senate Special Committee on Aging; and presently serve as the vice chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence.

I earned my bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Georgia in 1966, and my law degree from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 1968. My wife, Julianne, and I have been married since 1966, and reside in Moultrie, Ga. We have two children and five grandchildren.

I enjoy hearing from our students. If you have any questions for me, please send me an email here or call my Washington office at 202-224-3521. You are also welcome to send me a letter at:
