Hanna Welcomes New Director of Rome Lab

New director founded SAGE Solutions Group in Virginia
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Rep. Richard Hanna (NY-24) today welcomed Mr. George D. Duchak as the Director of the Air Force Research Laboratory Information Directorate, commonly referred to as Rome Lab in Rome, N.Y.
Duchak has served as vice president and founder of SAGE Solutions Group, Inc. located in Centreville, Va.
Rep. Hanna in February 2012 wrote to Air Force Materiel Command General Donald J. Hoffman to stress that a search commence quickly to find a permanent replacement for former Lab Director Dr. Davy Belk. In April, Rome Lab began operating under interim Director Col. David Blanks.
"I congratulate Mr. Duchak on his appointment as the new Director and welcome him to the Mohawk Valley," Rep. Hanna said. This appointment brings more stability and advocacy for Rome Lab, and it allows for continued leadership to direct the cutting edge innovation that Rome Lab has excelled at throughout its history. I look forward to meeting and working with Mr. Duchak.

Located at the former Griffiss Air Force Base, Rome Lab leads the discovery, development and integration of affordable information technology capabilities for the nation's air, space and cyberspace forces. Rome Lab scientists and engineers develop systems, concepts and technologies to enhance the Air Force's capability to successfully meet the challenges of the information age.
