Regular visits to Washington

Are you planning a visit to Washington, D.C.? Whether you're coming on a short business trip, or an extended family vacation, my office can help you make arrangements for some of the more popular Federal attractions in our Nation's Capital.

We are able to help you reserve tours to the White House, the U.S. Capitol, the Library of Congress, the Kennedy Center, the Supreme Court, and the Bureau of Engraving and Printing.

These tours are an excellent way to see all that the nation's capital has to offer and all of these tours are of no charge to you. All tickets are provided to my constituents on a first-come, first-served basis. Due to the large number of visitors, please request them as early as possible in order to maximize your chances.

While you are in Washington, D.C., I encourage you and your family to stop by my office.

Important Information Regarding White House Tour Requests

Please be advised that if you plan to request passes for the White House during your visit to Washington, D.C., you should submit your tour request as far in advance as possible. The White House staff receives an extremely high volume of tour requests and are not able to accommodate all requests. Group tours are scheduled in the order in which the request was received by the White House Visitors' Office. It is not uncommon for a request to be denied if it is not submitted far enough in advance. White House tour requests can be submitted up to 6 months in advance and no later than 21 days in advance.

Changes to a Request:

If there are any changes to the size of the group or date(s) requested after the original request is
submitted, the original request must be cancelled and a new request submitted. This will change
the order in which the request was received.

When do Tours Take Place?

Group tours are scheduled Tuesdays through Thursdays from 7:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Fridays from 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 7:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. These hours are extended, when possible, based on the official White House schedule. Group tours are scheduled based on availability and a request for a specific time may not be granted. White House tours are subject to last minute cancellation, and occasional, changes to approved tour dates and times do occur.

Peak Season:

The White House’s peak season for tour requests is between the months of April and August. If you plan to visit the White House during its peak season, it is highly recommended that you request your tour six (6) months in advance. While this still does not guarantee admittance to the White House, it  increases your chances of being approved for a tour. During peak seasons, smaller groups may have more success.

White House Tour Confirmations:

When a request is submitted, it goes into a pending status until the White House staff has an opportunity to review the request. Our office typically receives status updates regarding White House Tour requests approximately two weeks prior to the requested date(s).  We realize that this can be an inconvenience when making travel arrangements, and your patience is greatly appreciated in this matter.

Please note that our office simply facilitates tour requests and is not responsible for approving or denying requests. All decisions are made by the White House staff, and once a decision has been made, we do not have the authority to change that decision.

Thank you for contacting my office. We look forward to helping make your visit to our Nation's Capital memorable. If you have any questions or concerns regarding your request, or need additional information, please call 202-225-1605.
