The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act

The ARRA included targeted investments in education to help make America stronger, more competitive, and more productive in the global economy. The Recovery Act is helping to jumpstart our economy and prepare our students for the 21st century by modernizing our schools, helping states avoid teacher layoffs and other education cutbacks, and making college more affordable. Economists estimate that, overall, the recovery package will save or create more than 250,000 jobs in the education and health care sectors. (Signed into law)
