McCarthy Statement on Meeting with Small Business Owners

Washington D.C. – House Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy (CA-22) released the following statement regarding a House Republican Leadership meeting with small business owners from across the country:

“Today, I had the opportunity to speak with small business owners on the challenges they will face if President Obama does not act on the latest House Republican proposal to avoid the ‘fiscal cliff.’ As a former small business owner I am aware of how hard it is to run a small business. Unfortunately, the President’s insistence on raising taxes on these job creators will be burdensome and harmful to their operations. Small businesses are the engine of our economy and House Republicans continue to have their back.”
