Internships

Attention: open in a new window. PDFPrint

Students interested in gaining experience in the political arena may be interested in the internship opportunities available in my Capitol Hill and Virginia District Offices.  Internships are available throughout the year, including the Congressional Black Caucus Internship during the summer months.  Both college and high school students are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities of congressional interns include answering telephones, opening and sorting mail, giving Capitol tours to constituents, tracking legislation or constituent casework, attending briefings with staff and preparing constituent correspondence.  These tasks give students an insiders view of the workings of Capitol Hill and enable them to become an integral part of the office.

If you are interested in serving as an intern in my office please complete the pdf_small internship application and attach a cover letter and resume.  You are also required to complete an essay, which is indicated on the application form.  Please know that incomplete application packages will not be processed.
