Our nation's capital is one of the most exciting and diverse cities in the United States. Sen. Landrieu's office can help you try to secure tours for the U.S. Capitol, Library of Congress, White House and other local attractions. Please note, many tours fill up quickly, espeically during the summer months. Sen. Landrieu strongly encourages you to submit your request six months in advance of your trip to the nation's capital to increase the likelihood of securing requested dates and times.
White House
Days: Tuesday – Saturday
Advance notice needed: 6 weeks minimum
Self-guided tours of the White House are offered Tuesday - Saturday on a first come, first served basis. Visitors must request a tour through their member of Congress at least six weeks in advance. Unfortunately, tours cannot be guaranteed. More information.
U.S. Capitol
Days: Monday – Saturday
Advance notice needed: 2 weeks
Guided tours of the historic U.S. Capitol building are offered throughout the day. All tours begin at the Capitol Visitor’s Center, where visitors continue into the Capitol Crypt, the Rotunda, and National Statuary Hall. Gallery passes to view the Senate and House floors are available in Sen. Landrieu’s office during the work week. More information.
Library of Congress
Days: Monday – Saturday
Advance notice needed: 4 weeks
The Library of Congress serves as the official research arm of Congress and as the national library. Guided tours of the Library are offered throughout the day on a first come, first served basis. More information.
Supreme Court
Days: Monday – Friday
Advance notice needed: 4 weeks
The Supreme Court serves as a final arbiter on all legislation and our nation’s foremost Constitutional authority. Guided tours of the Court are offered throughout the week on a first come, first served basis. More information.
National Archives
Days: Monday – Saturday
Advance notice needed: 4 weeks
The National Archives houses many of our nation’s historic documents, including the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. Guided and self-guided tours are offered on a first come, first served basis. More information.
Bureau of Engraving and Printing
Days: Monday – Friday
Advance notice needed: 4 weeks minimum
The Bureau of Engraving and Printing produces U.S. currency notes such as the $1 bill. Guided tours are offered of the Bureau on a first come, first served basis. More information.
Pentagon
Days: Monday – Friday
Advance notice needed: 4 weeks minimum
The Pentagon serves as the headquarters for our nation’s defense operations. Located across the Potomac River in Virginia, the Pentagon offers visitors guided tours on a first come, first served basis. More information.
Kennedy Center
Days: Monday – Friday
Advance notice needed: 2 weeks
The Kennedy Center is one of Washington, D.C.’s premier arts venues. Free performances are held at the Center’s Millennium Stage and guided tours are offered of the facility. More information.
Washington National Cathedral
Days: Monday, Wednesday
Advance notice needed: 2 weeks
The Washington National Cathedral serves are our nation’s house of prayer for all people, and is located atop Washington's highest point, Mount Alban. Guided Congressional tours are offered Monday and Wednesday mornings at 9 a.m. More information.
U.S. Treasury
Days: Saturday only
Advance notice needed: 6 weeks minimum
The U.S. Treasury is responsible for managing federal finances, supervising national banks and producing postage stamps. Guided tours of the Treasury building, located adjacent to the White House, are offered on Saturdays only on a first come, first served basis. More information.
