Dear Friends,
I want to make sure you are aware of two very important things happening in
the next few weeks.
First, as you know, 2011 tax returns must be filed on April 17, 2012. If
you need help filling out your forms, find a free Volunteer Income Tax
Assistance provider
near you or check out free
online filing programs. Also
be sure to see if you qualify for the Earned Income Tax Credit.
Each year, the EITC provides about $60 billion in cash and credits to
working households earning less than $50,000. Visit my
EITC page for more details. Already paid your taxes? Get your federal
taxpayer receipt and see where all that money went.

Second,
each spring, Congress sponsors a high school art competition to recognize
artistic talent in each congressional district. Winners are recognized at
an awards ceremony in Washington, DC. Winning entries are displayed in the
Capitol for one year. Judging
for the 3rd District will be held on May 7 in Jacksonville.
To learn how to submit an entry, visit my Art
Competition page or call my Jacksonville office.
As always, if you have any questions or need help with a federal agency,
please contact one of my offices.
