In the coming months, Congress will consider a reauthorization of the Water Resources Development Act, to authorize and guide the Corps of Engineers in its mission of investigating, developing and maintaining the nation's water and related environmental resources.

Listed below are projects for which Congressman Barrow has asked the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure to give specific consideration on behalf of his constituents:

1. Due to inflation, to revise the total authorized project cost of the Savannah Harbor Expansion Project (SHEP) to $675 million from $473 million. This project is a collaboration with the Georgia Ports Authority.

2. To authorize the city of Augusta to transfer municipal funds to the Corps of Engineers for a cost study on repairs needed for the New Savannah River Bluff lock and dam.  This project is a collaboration with the City of Augusta.
