Congressman Pete King

Federal Agency Assistance

As your Congressman, my job is to represent you in Washington and respond to your needs in New York . When constituents write to me requesting specific assistance with individual issues, I make it a priority to take action.

If you cannot get an answer from a federal agency in a reasonable time or if you have been treated unfairly, I will do everything I can to help resolve your problem or get you the information you need.

My Massapequa Park District Office can act as a liaison between you and the federal agency.

Under the provisions of the Privacy Act of 1974, a federal agency cannot release information concerning an individual unless that person has given his or her expressed or written permission. For your convenience, you may write a letter or download my Privacy Act form here. Please include the following information:

  • Your name, mailing address, phone number
  • A brief but clear description of the problem
  • Copies of supporting documents from the federal agency
  • Other relevant information

The Privacy Act of 1974 requires Members of Congress and their staff to have written authorization before they can obtain information about an individual's case. If you have a case in the courts, the law does not allow me to intervene in legal cases.

State and local issues are handled by your elected state and local representatives.

Issues my office can help you with include immigration, social security, Medicare, veteran claims, passports as well as obtaining military medals and records.
