Lummis congratulates newly appointed State Treasurer Mark Gordon
Gordon, a rancher from Buffalo, is chosen from three finalists to fulfill the late Joseph Meyer’s term.

Washington, Oct 26 -

WASHINGTON – Friday, Governor Matt Mead announced that Buffalo Rancher Mark Gordon has been appointed as Wyoming State Treasurer to complete the remaining term of Treasurer Joseph Meyer who passed away in October. Gordon’s combined experience working as a non-banking board member for the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City and serving on both the Wyoming Environmental Quality Council and Wyoming Wildlife and Natural Resource Trust makes him qualified to serve as Meyer’s replacement.

After becoming acquainted with one-another during the 2008 Wyoming House Congressional Race, former Wyoming State Treasurer and current U.S. Representative Cynthia Lummis was pleased to hear of Treasurer Gordon’s appointment.

“Treasurer Gordon and I began our friendship under pretty unusual circumstances, but our encounters throughout the 2008 Wyoming House Race and working with him on economic and monetary policy since gave me the opportunity to see how qualified he is,” Rep. Lummis said. “Mark Gordon has a particular interest in economic policy, the background demanded for this position and a clear love for the state. I congratulate Mark on his appointment to one of the best jobs in state government. He will be working with an extraordinary staff and I look forward to working with all of them.”
