Diana DeGette's clean-energy tour to Coolerado, RavenBrick

Tucked inside a small room in an industrial building just south of I-70 and west of Holly Street, three leaders from a clean tech company called Coolerado explained to Congresswoman Diana DeGette how they are turning the traditional air conditioning process upside down.

"What we offer is the most significant change to air conditioning in more than a hundred years," said Tim Heaton, vice president of the Denver-based air-conditioning company, which has been selling its product since 2004. "The technology and the science...hasn't changed in 120 years.... We offer a completely different science."

DeGETTE RESPONDS TO ANNOUNCEMENT OF $17M USDOL GRANT TO CCD

DENVER – U.S. Rep. Diana DeGette (CO-1) issued the following statement in response to the U.S. Department of Labor’s announcement they were awarding a $17.26 million Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training Grant (TAACCCT) to the Community College of Denver (CCD).  The grant provides for CCD member institutions to partner with local employers to help unemployed and underemployed Colorado workers receive the training they need to find jobs in the energy industry.

The Debt Ceiling: Simplify the Process; Solve the Problem

In the coming weeks, our national leaders face extraordinary challenges. To avoid defaulting on our obligations and sending the world economy into a tailspin, we must raise the debt limit by August 2nd. But we also face the daunting task of balancing the budget and reducing our deficit, while at the same time avoiding the enactment of any solutions that will exacerbate the serious and stubborn joblessness in this country. Unfortunately as debate and negotiations over the debt ceiling have progressed, all of these issues seem to have been inextricably linked to one another, setting the stage for an unprecedented and dangerous path forward.
