TROY, NC – Representative Larry Kissell (NC-08) visited with students at Page Street Elementary School on Thursday. Kissell joined students in Bev Russell’s Fifth Grade class and spoke with them about the importance of education, ways to be active in their community and to discuss his work on behalf of the people of the 8th District.
“It’s always good to be in the classroom speaking with students and hearing their honest thoughts on so many different things,” said Kissell. “Our elementary school teachers are doing a tremendous job putting students first and preparing them for what’s outside of the classroom and all of the possibilities of their futures. I thank Ms. Russell and the folks at Page Street for the opportunity to come and meet with this wonderful class and the faculty.”
Russell thanked Kissell for coming to speak with the class, and acknowledged what it means to the kids for him to spend time with them and answer their questions.
“I always love that Congressman Kissell takes the time to come and talk with the kids. It means so much to them,” said Russell. “It is a meaningful experience to see that someone from Montgomery County can go on and represent us in Washington.”
