WASHINGTON, DC – Representative Larry Kissell (NC-08) recently welcomed to the U.S. Capitol a group of fifth grade students from Covington Elementary School in Laurinburg, along with teachers and chaperones. The students took a tour of the Capitol building and also visited the White House.
“It is wonderful to spend time with such enthusiastic young folks and see firsthand just how interested they are in their government and learning how it works,” said Kissell. “As a former schoolteacher, it’s rewarding to see students that are engaged and interested in government and current events at such a young age. I commend the staff and parents and chaperones of Covington Elementary for their hard work in providing these children with a safe and successful visit to Washington.”
