LOCUST, NC – Sunday, Representative Larry Kissell (NC-08) attended the Eagle Scout Ceremony of Alexander Remsburg. Kissell joined Remsburg's friends and family for the event, held at Locust Presbyterian Church.
Remsburg, 16, has served on Kissell's Eighth District Congressional Youth Council, which Kissell formed to promote interest in government and public service among young people in the district. Remsburg has taken part in Youth Council service projects for area residents, charities and organizations throughout the district.
“I’m extremely proud to join Alexander's parents, church leaders and Scout leaders in congratulating him for receiving the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout,” said Kissell. “It is a true testament to this young man's character and it is an honor that will stay with him throughout his life. It's a privilege to be a part of this ceremony.”
Remsburg is a Junior at West Stanly High School. The rank of Eagle Scout is considered the highest recognition in Scouting.
“I also honor the community of people who have supported Alexander on his path to this honor,” added Kissell. “Alexander's service has been shaped by his family and our community. His parents, Bob and Tammi, his troop leaders, teachers and the leaders among us right here in this church. People like Alexander who have demonstrated such dedication to our community at a young age are the future leaders of our country, and I'm proud to be a part of this special day.”
