CONCORD, NC – Today, Representative Larry Kissell (NC-08) kicked off a Toys for Tots drive at his three district offices in Concord, Rockingham and Fayetteville, which will serve as drop off locations for the 2011 Toys for Tots program.

“I am so honored to host these collection boxes at our district offices for the 2011 Toys for Tots drive, “ said Kissell.  “This holiday season, it is important to remember those children and families who are less fortunate. For more than 60 years, our U.S. Marine Corps and the Toys for Tots program has provided families in need with a source of both pride and joy during the Christmas season. I hope any folks who are able to will participate in this wonderful program.”

Participants are encouraged to drop off new, unwrapped toys at Kissell’s offices through December 16. Kissell’s district offices are located at 325 McGill Avenue, Suite 500 in Concord, 230 E. Franklin Street in Rockingham, and 6257 Raeford Road in Fayetteville.

“It is so great that Congressman Kissell is involved because it shows that the community as a whole is coming together to help children in the community who are less fortunate,” said Staff Sgt. William Walker, Toys for Tots Coordinator in Charlotte. “The Toys for Tots Foundation provides toys to less fortunate children by accepting donations from local communities, and then distributing them to needy families in that very same community so that their children can open presents at Christmas.“

Those interested in seeking more information about the program or drop off locations can contact Kissell’s office at 704-786-1612.
