Congressman Kissell Welcomes Congressional Delegation to Fort Bragg

FAYETTEVILLE, NC - Congressman Larry Kissell welcomed a group of his colleagues on a Congressional Delegation trip to Fort Bragg this weekend, observing and taking part in a Joint Operations Access Exercise by the 82nd Airborne Division, as well as a tour of the base.

“I'm proud to be able to show off all of the good work done at Bragg,” said Kissell. “From the honor and respect of the troops that call this base home, to the energy saving and cost cutting measures they’ve adopted to help lessen the burden on all of us, this post serves as an example to all of successful leadership, innovation, and dedication to our country. I thank Lt. General Mulholland, Major General Huggins and Col. Sicinski for their continued service and for providing this group with a firsthand account of all the important work being done on base.”

Joining Kissell for the CODEL were Congressman Chris Gibson (R-NY), a former Commander of the 82nd’s 2nd Brigade Combat Team, as well as Congressman Steve Palazzo (R-MS), Congressman Adrian Smith (R-NE), and Congresswoman Renee Ellmers (R-NC).

“I’m glad that my colleagues took the opportunity to see just how important our part of the world is when it comes to the U.S. Army,” Kissell added. “As this base expands through BRAC, it’s good to know that others in Congress will have a precise understanding of the needs and interests of the folks here at Bragg. I’m committed to making sure that this base and its surrounding communities have the funding they need to both keep our country safe and our state great.”
