Flu Response

The flu virus poses a serious threat to the health and wellbeing of Minnesotans. One of the best ways to combat the spread of the virus is to stay home when you are infected. Senator Franken realizes that staying home during this tough economy is not an option for most Minnesota families. That is why he co-sponsored legislation to guarantee up to seven days of paid sick leave for workers infected by the flu virus, such as H1N1. This bill ensures that Minnesotans can take care of themselves, or stay home to take care of their kids, without sacrificing their ability to make ends meet.
