Sen. Franken authored the Medical Loss Ratio provision in the Affordable Care Act, and a new report shows that more than 100,000 Minnesotans will benefit from the provision.
One aspect of the Affordable Care Act is forcing insurance companies to become more efficient - or pay rebates to customers.
Minnesota's junior senator, Al Franken, was instrumental in getting the measure included in the sweeping federal healthcare law.
Thanks to Franken, nearly 13 million Americans will benefit from $1.1 billion in rebates from insurance companies this summer.
