Immigration Reform

Throughout America's history, our nation's values and founding principles have been a beacon of hope for millions of immigrants striving to live in freedom. My ancestors, like most Americans, were immigrants who came to America seeking a better life. To this day, those same principles continue drawing people to our country.  While our government's policy regarding immigration has fluctuated over time, most every American agrees that the current system is broken.  Reforming our nation's immigration system is a critical issue. My position is very simple. It has four key components that ensure a fair, economically-feasible solution to our current problem with illegal immigration:

1) Secure our nation's borders.

2) Enforce immigration laws in the workplace.

3) Improve the process for issuing visas of all types.

4) Provide an earned pathway to legal status.

I also support giving Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) additional resources to crackdown on American companies who violate our immigration laws by coordinating with human smugglers similar to indentured servitude. Plus, I support ICE's ongoing efforts to crackdown on brutal international gangs that plague our cities.
