As your Member of Congress, one of my top responsibilities is to obtain our fair share of federal funds to assist local projects, create jobs and advance critical goals in our community.    

Every year I meet with cities, counties, universities, and other local entities in the district to determine their most pressing needs during these tough economic times.  This year’s requests range from local road improvements, to medical research, renewable energy development, and many others.  

During my time in Congress, we dramatically improved the transparency and accountability of this process.  Now, every request I support is available on my official congressional website and is available for public review.  Every request is thoroughly reviewed by the applicable federal agency to ensure the project is eligible for funding under the laws and guidelines of that program.  To be as transparent and accountable as possible to my district, below you will find information about the projects in our community which I officially sent to the Appropriations Committee for funding.  I welcome your feedback on these projects.
