Barrow Begins 6th Annual "Holiday Cards for Our Troops"

November 19, 2012

WASHINGON – Congressman John Barrow (GA-12) today launched his 6th Annual "Holiday Cards for Our Troops" program in the 12th Congressional District. Each year, Congressman Barrow invites residents to write a special holiday message to our troops wounded from battle or stationed away from their families. The cards will be delivered to troops at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC).

"The men and women of our military spend months, if not years, away from their families," said Congressman Barrow. "Especially in cases where a soldier is recovering, the holidays can be a very difficult time. I encourage folks to get involved with this program and send a note to the troops who have sacrificed so much for this country."

Congressman Barrow asks constituents to make or purchase a holiday card, write a message of thanks to a service member, and then send or bring the card, unaddressed and with an unsealed envelope, to one of his district offices by December 7, 2012. The Congressman and his staff will deliver them to service members on behalf of the people of the 12th District of Georgia.

If mailing, cards should be sent in a separate envelope to one of Congressman Barrow's district offices:
