December 4, 2012

WASHINGTON – U.S. Congressman John Barrow (GA-12) today announced the lottery for constituents interested in obtaining tickets to the 57th Presidential Inauguration to be held on Monday, January 21, 2013, in Washington, DC.

Congressman Barrow is accepting requests for tickets to the inauguration through his official website, www.barrow.house.gov, until January 6, 2012. Any constituents of the newly-drawn 12th Congressional District who are interested in attending the inauguration should fill out the online form prior to January 6th. Congressman Barrow's office will hold a lottery for ticket distribution, and winners will be announced in January.

"The inauguration of the President of the United States is a time-honored tradition in this country," said Congressman Barrow. "Every four years, we make history with yet another peaceful transfer of power, and I'm honored that folks in Georgia get to participate in person. I encourage folks to apply online for tickets, and I look forward to seeing them in our nation's capital in January."

Congressional offices are allocated tickets for distribution for each inauguration. Tickets distributed by Congressman Barrow's office are only for the inauguration of the President. Any requests for tickets to the Inaugural Day parade are made through the Presidential Inaugural Parade and not from Congressman Barrow's office.

Any organization interested in participating in the Inaugural Day parade should fill out an online application at http://www.2013inaugurationparade.mil.
