U.S. Embassy Promotes Investment Opportunities with Iraqi Officials (September 23, 2012)
The U.S. Embassy hosted officials from Iraq's National Investment Commission, the Ministries of Housing and Planning, as well as several Provincial Investment Commissions on September 13 to discuss investment opportunities in the Iraqi housing and construction sectors. Representatives of U.S. companies joined the meeting by videoconference from Washington, D.C. Private-sector participants from the United States expressed optimism about Iraq's potential for economic growth and highlighted the importance of creating an environment to encourage foreign investment. This event was part of U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton's "Direct Line to American Business" program.
