1-19-2012 - Pence Nominates Students from Bartholomew and Johnson Counties for Acceptance into Military Academies PDF Print

 

Anderson, IN – U.S. Congressman Mike Pence nominated three high school seniors from Johnson and Bartholomew Counties to receive nominations to America's military academies. Ian Finerfrock of Hartsville, Timothy Bernier of Nineveh, and Kyle Spratt of Nineveh were among 14 students Pence nominated from the 6th Congressional District.

"I want to congratulate these students on their service to their local communities and for their academic excellence," said Pence. "Indiana is fortunate to have young men of their caliber who are willing to serve their country. I wish Ian, Timothy, and Kyle all the best as they put their country first and prepare to selflessly serve this great nation."

Ian Finerfrock of Hartsville – Ian is the son of Harry and Cynthia Finerfrock. He attends Columbus East High School. Finefrock has been involved in the Indiana Academic Team Super Bowl State Competition and also participated in the High School Business Planning Competition. Ian was nominated for acceptance into the Naval Academy and the Merchant Marine Academy.

Timothy Bernier of Nineveh – Timothy is the son of Leo Bernier, Jr. and Robin Bernier. He is home-schooled and lists multiple awards in 4-H, as well as becoming an Eagle Scout through Boy Scouts of America among his achievements. Timothy was nominated for acceptance into the Air Force Academy.

Kyle Spratt of Nineveh – Kyle is the son of Michael and Elizabeth Spratt. He attends Indian Creek Senior High School where he plays varsity tennis, is a member of the Robotics Team and serves as the senior class president. He has also earned the Eagle Scout award through Boy Scouts of America. Kyle was nominated for acceptance into the Naval Academy, the Air Force Academy and the Merchant Marine Academy.
