Senator Lautenberg joins Senator Robert Menendez (D-NJ; left), Clean Ocean Action's Cindy Zipf, Belmar Mayor Ken Pringle and Governor Jon S. Corzine at Taylor Pavilion in Belmar to call for a permanent ban on oil and gas drilling off the Jersey Shore. President Bush and Congressional Republicans are exploring ways to overturn the existing ban, but Senator Lautenberg reiterated he will continue to lead the fight in the Senate to block offshore drilling, as he has done on several occasions during the past two years.
