  1. I want to share a recent article I wrote for International Economy Magazine on the growing threat of Chinese cyber espionage targeting our government and private U.S. businesses. The cyberattacks are not only putting our national security at risk, they are undermining job creation and economic recovery in the U.S.

  3. Today I spoke on the House floor to reiterate my demand that the U.S. cut off all foreign aid to Tunisia because the African nation won’t allow the FBI to interview a key suspect in the Benghazi terrorist attack. My statement follows a let...ter I sent yesterday to Secretary Clinton urging her to cut U.S. aid to Tunisia.

  4. Yesterday I attended an event celebrating the completion of the traffic-calming project on Route 50 in Aldie. The project will slow traffic and increase safety as drivers are now transitioned to the town speed limit with landscaping, sidew...alks and raised crosswalks. I am pleased to see another traffic-calming project on Route 50 completed, and look forward to the next phase being completed in Middleburg. Here are a few photos from the event.See More

  5. I want to share an article from American History Magazine about honoring the birthday of the father of our country, President George Washington. I appreciate the author’s kind words about my bill, which would reestablish February 22, Presi...dent Washington’s actual birthday, as the official federal holiday. I have long admired President Washington and have found inspiration in public service from studying his life. During these troubled times, including the standoff over the looming “fiscal cliff”, all public officials could benefit from President Washington’s example of leadership. We owe it to future generations to ensure that his legacy is never forgotten and accessible to all.

  6. Once again, the foreign owners of the Dulles Greenway are planning to raise tolls next year. I have long been outspoken in my opposition to the ever-increasing cost of the Greenway tolls. Today I wrote the State Corporation Commission (SC...C) chairman asking that the commission develop long-term solutions to deal with these burdensome tolls.

  7. Yesterday I had the privilege of signing holiday cards for our troops as part of the Red Cross Holiday Mail for Heroes program. The cards will go out to U.S. service members, veterans and their families worldwide. This holiday season we should keep in mind the brave men and women in uniform who sacrifice so much to protect our country and defend our freedom.

  8. This afternoon I met with former Senator Alan Simpson and Erskine Bowles, co-chairs of the Simpson-Bowles Commission. At the meeting, they urged Congress to “go big” and support comprehensive budget reform to get our nation’s fiscal house in order. I am committed to solving this budget crisis and that is why I was one of only 38 House members to vote to put everything on the table for discussion to identify at least $4 trillion in deficit reduction.
  9. I want to share an update on the progress of the Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project which provides answers to 20 of the most frequently asked questions about the project. I have long supported bringing rail to Dulles Airport and Loudoun County and I am pleased that this critical transportation project is moving forward.
