RUSS CARNAHAN TO ATTEND RETURNING HEROES PARADE IN ST. LOUIS

(ST. LOUIS, MO) – Tomorrow, Saturday January 28, Representative Russ Carnahan will attend a “Returning Heroes” parade welcoming American troops back from Iraq.  The first in the nation of its kind, the Returning Heroes parade will begin at noon at Kiener Plaza and conclude with a “Veterans’ Resource Village” at St. Louis’ Union Station.

"They say Missouri is the ‘Show Me’ state,” Carnahan said. “But this time, the compassionate and patriotic people of St. Louis are showing the nation how quickly we can mobilize to thank those who have given so much for our nation."

The parade, organized mostly on Facebook by the “January 28th Group,” will honor returning veterans and conclude with an event to give veterans the resources they need to find employment and return to civilian life.  The January 28th Group is partnering with St. Louis-based veterans service organization “The Mission Continues.”

Rep. Carnahan will be available for questions following the parade.  To RSVP, please contact Sam Drzymala at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or 202-674-0594.
