Trade

I firmly believe that trade, when it's done right and when it's fair, can benefit workers, communities, and the environment—not just multinational corporations. The President has committed to doubling our exports in five years, which is a steep challenge, but expanding exports can mean thousands of new jobs in Minnesota. Trade must not mean we lose good jobs here at home for our working families and communities. We've got to make sure that we provide a level playing field based on strong labor, human rights, and environmental standards. Trade agreements shouldn't just pay lip service to those standards; they've got to have teeth.
