Rural Health Services

Providing quality health care in Minnesota's rural communities has always been a logistical challenge. As a member of the Senate Rural Health Caucus, Sen. Franken is looking for solutions so that every Minnesotan receives the quality care they deserve. One solution that he is in favor of is the creation of coordinated health care. Coordinated networks bring together multiple providers to create collaborative relationships that focus on integrating clinical, information, administrative, and financial systems across members. Creating collaborative networks makes it easier for health care professionals to provide the best possible care they can.  Additionally, Sen. Franken supports initiatives that promote telemedicine.  Telemedicine uses technology to allow patients to see their health care providers remotely, and can help Minnesotans in rural areas get the care they need quickly and without traveling long-distances.
