The House Passes The Foreign Relations Authorization Act


Washington, Jul 20, 2005 - Legislation authorizing funding for the U.S. Department of State, U.S. international broadcasting activities, and security assistance to America's allies passed the House of Representatives today. H.R. 2601 strengthens the U.S. Government’s development and coordination of nonproliferation and export control policy to counter proliferation of dangerous missile and nuclear technology, and to assure that export law is integrated with U.S. national security interests in the war on terrorism.

“The global war on terrorism requires cooperation from many fronts and many countries,” said Congressman Dana Rohrabacher. “This authorization will allow the respective agencies to carry out their goals and objectives effectively and efficiently while working with other countries to ensure our safety,”
