Quayle Statement on September Jobs Report

PHOENIX (AZ) – Congressman Ben Quayle released the following statement in response to the Labor Department's release of the September unemployment report.

"A drop in the unemployment rate is always welcome, but this jobs report offers few reasons for cheer.  Not enough jobs are being created to keep up with population growth, much less provide millions of unemployed Americans with work.

"What we're seeing is the effect of discouraged workers exiting the labor force; not sustained growth in employment.  The President tries to put the best face on his failed policies, and he'll try to claim that this report is a triumph for workers.  It isn't.  This report shows as clearly as ever that we need a new approach to growing our economy and creating jobs."
