Daily Senate Schedule for Tuesday, December 11, 2012

The Senate will next convene at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 11 after standing in adjournment under the provisions of S. Res. 612 as a mark of further respect for the memory of the late Senator Arlen Specter, former Senator for Pennsylvania, at 6:00 p.m. Monday, December 10.

Following the Leaders’ remarks, the Senate will be in Morning Business for one hour, with the first 30 minutes under Majority control and the second 30 minutes under Republican control. 

Following Morning Business
The Senate will resume consideration of motion to proceed to S. 3637, the Transaction Account Guarantee bill, with the time until 12:30 p.m. equally divided between the Leaders or their designees.

12:30 p.m.
The Senate will recess until 2:15 p.m. for the weekly policy lunches.

2:15 p.m.
The Senate will conduct a cloture VOTE on the motion to proceed to S. 3637.  If cloture is invoked, the motion to proceed will be agreed to and Majority Leader Reid will be recognized.

At a time to be determined, the Senate will begin consideration of Executive Calendar #762,  John Dowdell, of Oklahoma, to be United States District Judge for the Northern District of Oklahoma; and Executive Calendar #829, Jesus Bernal, of California, to be United States District Judge for the Central District of California, for up to 30 minutes of debate, equally divided.  Following the use or yielding back of time the Senate will conduct 2 VOTES on confirmation of the nominations.

At a time to be determined, the Senate will begin consideration of Executive Calendar #518, Carol J. Galante, of California, to be an Assistant Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, for up to 60 minutes of debate, equally divided.  Following the use or yielding back of time, the Senate will VOTE on confirmation; 60 votes will be required for confirmation.
