SOUTHERN ILLINOIS RECEIVES USDA AWARDS

WASHINGTON - U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) today announced the following awards in Union and Williamson counties from the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Office of Rural Development:

Village of Cobden - $15,000 grant to construct a new storm siren system.
Shawnee Health Services - $598,500 loan to construct an addition to a clinic in Murphysboro.

“USDA grants and loans leverage local and state dollars to meet pressing community needs,” Costello said. “These projects will enhance regional safety, wellness and economic development.”
