ORANGE COUNTY, N.Y. -- Orange County Executive Ed Diana is encouraging residents to take advantage of child safety day on Saturday.

The free event will be hosted by U.S. Congresswoman Nan Hayworth at the Orange County Fire Training Center.

Parents, grandparents and guardians will be provided with child safety information from various Orange County officials.

Parents will have the opportunity to create an identification card for their children, while children will learn fire safety and how to escape from a fire. There will also be car safety demonstrations, a Sheriff’s K-9 presentation and a 911 presentation.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Orange County Fire Training Center.
