Times Herald-Record: More than 1,000 flock to job fair

By James Walsh

NEW WINDSOR - A job fair drew more than 1,000 people by noon Monday as 70 employers including retailers, manufacturers and insurers sought workers for their companies.

Sponsored by Rep. Nan Hayworth, R-Mount Kisco, with the help of the Orange and Dutchess chambers of commerce, the fair at Anthony's Pier 9 also offered job-seekers assistance with resumes and interview preparation.

The latter was what drew people like Susan Kuhn of Newburgh.

“I like the idea of the seminars,” Kuhn said. “The resume tweaking is something a lot of people stress about – to make it brief enough to hit the highlights without boring the human resource person to death.”
