Poughkeepsie Journal: Congresswoman Hayworth to Hold Meeting on Agriculture Reform

 

WARWICK — Rep. Nan Hayworth, R-Bedford, is hosting a meeting to discuss issues relevant to the agriculture community within the 19th Congressional District at the Warwick Town Hall on Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Hayworth plans to update the community about her efforts in the nation’s capital, particularly in crop insurance reform, the upcoming farm bill, the Wetlands Reserve Program and hurricane relief efforts. Hayworth intends to address the federal issues that impact the agricultural community and discuss how best to address the situation.

Members of the Dutchess, Orange and Putnam counties farmers, Cornell Cooperative Extension, the state farm bureau, Orange County Legislature, Town of Warwick supervisor’s office, Wallkill Drainage District, Vegetable Growers Association and the Dutchess, Putnam and Westchester Farm Bureau are invited.
