In this month's address, Robert discusses his travels throughout the district during his Route 15 tour and how Central and Southside Virginians have consistently expressed the need for the federal government to remove itself as a barrier to job creation in the 5th District.

We all have been following with great interest the decision rendered by the United States Supreme Court regarding the constitutionality of the President's Health Care law. The Court was asked to rule on the constitutionality of this law -- and in no uncertain terms, deemed that the only way the individual mandate is constitutional is if it is considered a tax on the American people. While Robert respects the Court's decision, he knows that this is disappointing news for those who love freedom. The people of the 5th District want a reformed health care system that delivers quality care at affordable prices, not another federal government tax scheme that digs deeper into their pockets. At the heart of this debate is the fact that this law represents a fundamental departure from our nation's founding principles by placing more faith in the government than in the American people.
