Aloha! The Senate is in a home state work period until April 20. I am back in Hawaii to attend a number of meetings and events. Among other things, I am meeting with the students at Pohukaina Elementary School to talk about financial literacy. I am also attending a high school economics competition at the University of Hawaii. An understanding of finances and savings is so important for the continued accomplishment of these students. My second week in Hawaii will be spent at meetings and events on Kauai, Maui and Oahu. I will be back in Washington D.C. on the 20th, as the Senate reconvenes to debate the Fraud Enforcement and Recovery Act and vote on a number of pending nominations made by President Obama. If you ever come to visit D.C., please let us know and we will set up a tour.
A hui ho, Senator Akaka
