WASHINGTON - The House Homeland Security Committee is expected Wednesday to subpoena the Virginia socialites who crashed a White House state dinner two weeks ago, a lawmaker said.

The committee has enough votes to subpoena Michaele and Tareq Salahi, but the celebrity-crazed couple has indicated through their lawyer that they will take the Fifth Amendment and remain silent, said Rep. Pete King (R-L.I.), the ranking GOP lawmaker on the panel.

King will also propose issuing a subpoena to White House social secretary Desiree Rogers, who ran the state dinner. Democrats on the committee, however, have assured the White House they won't call Rogers, a close pal to President Obama.
