Rep. Pete King (R-N.Y.) said Thursday he will not be launching a bid for the White House in 2012.
King had floated the possibility of running earlier this year while acknowledging it was unlikely to happen.
The Homeland Security Committee chairman told The Hill, "I'm not running."
Asked if he had officially made that known, a smiling King indicated he had not: "No one has asked me in a while."
There are two other House members running for the White House: Reps. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) and Ron Paul (R-Texas).
