200 Days -- Where are the Jobs, Mr. Speaker?

"I want to ensure we pay the bills we owe and act responsibly to innovate, educate and create goods here in our country so hard working Americans can get back to work."

200 Days -- Where are the Jobs, Mr. Speaker?

Washington, DC -- Speaker of the House, John Boehner, and his Republicans have been in charge for nearly 200 days, and Coloradans are asking: “Where is the Republican jobs plan?"

Today, instead of introducing a comprehensive plan so  our communities can attract and foster the growth of small businesses and job creation , the House GOP insisted on passing a spending plan that will destroy 700,000 jobs across the nation, harm economic growth, and end Medicare.

U.S. Rep. Ed Perlmutter (CO-07) released the following statement regarding the latest Republican theatre show:

Perlmutter stated, "This is another sham political ploy demonstrating House Republicans only want to cut and run.  They want to arbitrarily cut Medicare and Social Security and run from their responsibility to lead this nation. I want to ensure we pay the bills we owe and act responsibly to innovate, educate and create goods here in our country so hard working Americans can get back to work and achieve the American Dream. "

Rather than risking our economic security and walking away from a real opportunity to reduce the deficit, Republicans need to work with Democrats on a balanced agreement to give businesses and the markets certainty and ensure we do not increase the deficit by failing to pay America’s bills.
