Lakewood – U.S. Rep. Ed Perlmutter released the following statement today after news that Denver Water Manager Chips Barry, 66, passed away after an accident Sunday afternoon on his farm in Hawaii:

“I am deeply saddened by the loss of Chips, and my thoughts and prayers are with his family at this difficult time.  Chips’ dedication to this community is unparalleled.  He was a true public servant committed to the highest ethical standards and our community and state will miss his leadership on water, environment and conservation issues. 

I will miss his sense of humor, his wisdom and his caring friendship.  My sympathies are with his family, friends, his colleagues at Denver Water and all those who were touched by knowing such a dignified man with great integrity.”
