Washington, D.C. – Today, U.S. Rep Ed Perlmutter released the following statement in recognition of Black History Month:
“We celebrate Black History Month to honor African American heritage and culture and to recognize the contributions African Americans have made and continue to make to our nation. I am proud to be part of a country with such a diverse population and it is this diversity that makes so strong. This month is a time to honor all of the cultural, political and social achievements and contributions made by African-Americans that have enriched our nation.
